Introduction
We built these IR quartz halogen heating lamps for one reason: blow molding machines. They’re all about getting your PET (and other) preforms hot—fast. The kind of focused heat that gets the parison to the right temperature in a heartbeat, without messing around. We designed them to be intense. Consistent. And compact enough to slide right into the space you already have.
The Nitty-Gritty
Here’s the thing about blow molding: it needs serious heat, delivered quickly. So we went with a 400V rating. It handles the power without demanding crazy wiring, which keeps voltage drop low and the install clean. The 2500W output is there for a reason—it gives you the heat flux to move fast, so your cycle time doesn’t get held hostage. And the 300mm tube length? That’s not random. It’s a direct match for standard heating zones, so you can swap it in and get back to work without re-engineering the whole reflector setup.
What’s Inside, and Why It Matters
The quartz envelope can take the shock of rapid heating and cooling, and it stays clear in the shortwave IR band—so the heat goes where it should. Halogen gas keeps the filament stable at high temps. That means longer life and steady output, even as the lamp ages. A reflective coating on the tube focuses the IR energy forward. More heat lands on the preform, less gets wasted into the machine frame. And the R7s connector? It’s proven, compact, and holds up when the machine is vibrating day after day. Wiring it up is straightforward—no drama.
On the Line, Where It Counts
On the blow molding floor, these lamps give you fast, localized heating that helps you keep tight control over parison temperature. The shortwave IR profile hits the preform surface quickly, which can help you use less energy per cycle. Install is simple: swap the lamp, wire it in, set the zone temperature. Done. Now, a straight-up reality check: this level of heat density is powerful, but it needs proper cooling. Make sure your machine’s cooling system can handle the extra ambient heat—otherwise, you’ll see the impact on component life and how steady the lamp output stays. We built this lamp to take the heat and the motion of continuous production, so you get reliable, repeatable heat in a tidy package.
