The Power Side of Things When you’re looking at specs, you’ll see wattage and voltage. It’s pretty straightforward: you just match it to your power supply. If you go with a high-wattage tube—say, 2000W to 3000W—you’re packing a massive amount of heat into a tiny space. Now, keep in mind that a 400V system draws current differently than a 230V one. That’s important because it changes which wiring gauge and contactors you’ll need to use. The best part? They’re fast. Like, really fast. They hit full temp in seconds. The Build and the Fit We use quartz for the envelope because it lets the shortwave radiation fly right through instead of soaking up the heat itself. For the connectors, we usually stick with R7s or Sk15. They’re designed to be drop-in replacements for most industrial sockets, so you get a tight fit.
