If you need heat—and you need it now—a 1000W halogen lamp is your best bet. These things are built for speed. While your average heater takes its time to warm up, these hit their stride almost instantly, throwing out a concentrated blast of infrared heat exactly where you need it. The secret is in the build. You’ve got a tungsten filament tucked inside a quartz envelope. Thanks to the “halogen cycle,” the tungsten that evaporates doesn’t just vanish; it actually settles back onto the filament. It’s a clever little loop that keeps the lamp running strong. The Voltage Trap Here is where you have to be careful. Depending on your setup, you’re likely looking at 110V or 230V. If you go with the higher voltage, your wiring can be a bit thinner without losing power along the line. But there’s a catch: it puts more stress on the ends of the lamp.
