We built this lamp for one specific job: flash curing. If you’ve done this before, you know the struggle. You need a massive hit of energy—fast—to set your coatings or adhesives. But you have to do it without cooking the actual part underneath. It’s a delicate balance. The heat is the hero here. At 1000W packed into a 450mm tube, this thing puts out a serious amount of concentrated heat. We used a tungsten filament inside a high-purity quartz envelope. Now, here is the clever part: the halogen cycle. It basically stops the tungsten from gunking up the inside of the glass. This keeps the tube crystal clear, so your infrared emission stays steady for a long time. It ramps up fast. Like, really fast. Which is exactly what you need when your parts are flying down a conveyor belt and only have a few seconds under the lamp. Why quartz? Because it doesn’t freak out when the temperature swings. In flash curing, you’re flipping the power on and off constantly. Cheap glass would just crack under that kind of thermal shock. We also stuck to the 450mm footprint because it’s a standard industrial size. It should slide right into most curing ovens without you having to rebuild the whole rig. What does this mean for your shop? Whether you’re powder coating, drying ink, or working with PET, this lamp gets the job done. Since it pumps out high-intensity shortwave IR, the heat sinks into the surface almost instantly. But, a word of warning. Putting 1000W into a compact frame creates a lot of ambient heat.**Don’t ignore your venting.**If your cooling fans quit, you’re looking at warped reflectors or fried wiring. My advice? Pair it with a PID controller. It’ll keep you from overshooting your target temp and save you a huge headache down the road.
