If you need heat—and you need it now—this is the tool for the job. We built this quartz halogen lamp for those high-intensity situations where waiting for a slow warm-up just isn’t an option. It hits 1500W at 230V, pushing a serious amount of heat across a 616mm stretch. The Power Stuff At 1500W, this thing puts out a lot of energy. We stuck with a 230V setup because it plays nice with most industrial power grids. That means you can skip the headache of messing around with complex transformers. Since it’s 616mm long, it covers a lot of ground. It’s a great fit if you’re looking for a quick replacement for your PET blowing or curing ovens. Just a heads-up: make sure your wiring and contactors can actually handle the current. If they can’t, you’re looking at burnt-out leads, and nobody wants to deal with that. Why Quartz and Ceramic? We used high-purity quartz glass for the tube. Here’s why: it keeps the halogen cycle moving so the tungsten filament doesn’t just evaporate and gunk up the walls. It keeps the light clear and, more importantly, makes the lamp last a lot longer. Then there are the R7s end caps. We went with ceramic instead of plastic. Why? Because plastic melts when things get this hot. Ceramic doesn’t. Plus, the sockets are spring-loaded. It makes swapping out tubes during maintenance a breeze—no fancy tools required. Just pop it in and you’re back in business. A Few Things to Keep in Mind This setup is a beast for plastic forming, drying, or industrial curing because it ramps up so fast. But, there’s a catch. 1500W is a lot of heat in a small space, and that glass gets hot—quickly. If your machine doesn’t breathe well, you might end up overheating your chassis. And here is the most important part:**keep your fingers off the glass.**Seriously. Any oil or fingerprints left on the quartz can create a “hot spot.” If that happens, the tube can crack in an instant. Keep it clean, and it’ll treat you right.
