If you’re dealing with industrial drying, curing, or shaping plastics, you know that getting the heat just right is the hardest part. That’s where our tungsten halogen lamps come in. We build these anywhere from 250W to 800W, depending on how much punch you actually need. Picking your power Here’s the thing: choosing between 250W and 800W isn’t just about “more heat.” It’s really about how concentrated that energy is. If you’re drying a thin film or doing some gentle warming, stick with the 250W. It’s softer. You don’t want to accidentally warp your materials because the lamp was too aggressive. But if you’re doing PET blowing or heavy-duty curing, you’ll want the 500W or 800W versions. They get the quartz envelope much hotter, which means your ramp-up time is way faster. Just a heads-up: make sure your wiring and power supply can handle the extra current draw of those 800W units. Nobody likes a voltage drop in the middle of a run. The magic inside the glass We use high-purity quartz glass to keep the tungsten filament safe. Inside, there’s a halogen gas that does something pretty cool. As the tungsten evaporates, the gas basically catches it and pushes it back to the center. It keeps the glass clear. No darkening, no dimming—just steady, reliable heat for the life of the lamp. Plus, we use R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re designed to be simple drop-in replacements. You can swap them into most standard heater banks without having to tear everything apart and rewire from scratch. It’s a huge time-saver. A quick word of caution High wattage is great, but it comes with a trade-off. Those 800W lamps put a lot of stress on the quartz. If you cram one into a tight housing with no airflow, the heat just soaks into everything. Before you know it, your connector housing starts to degrade. Make sure your machine can actually breathe. If the venting is bad, you’re just asking for a premature burnout. Balance your power with your cooling, and these things will last you a long time.
