
Let’s talk about the 499mm Halogen Infrared Heater
If you’re in the world of textile screen printing, you know the drill. You need your ink to flash-cure fast between stations, but you can’t just blast the fabric with heat or you’ll ruin the whole garment. That’s exactly why we built these 1600W halogen lamps. They’re designed to hit that sweet spot: intense heat that works quickly without scorching your materials. The deal with the power You’ll notice these are rated for 277V. Now, that might seem specific, but there’s a reason for it. By using 277V instead of the usual 230V, we can push 1600W through a 499mm tube while keeping the current under control. The result? A concentrated punch of heat. These things hit operating temperature almost the second you flip the switch. Just a heads-up: make sure your wiring and power supply are actually built for 277V. If they aren’t, you’re just asking for a burnout. Quartz and the “Easy Swap” We went with clear quartz glass here. We didn’t use coatings because we wanted the short-wave radiation to fly straight through to the ink without anything getting in the way. It’s just faster. And for the connector, we used the R7s base. It’s a simple push-in design. We know you don’t have time to mess around with soldering or complex wiring in the middle of a busy shift. You just pop the old one out, slide the new one in, and get back to printing. Real-world use (and a warning) In a screen printing shop, these lamps do the heavy lifting for ink fixation. The 499mm size is perfect for covering wide areas evenly, and since they’re halogen-filled, the temperature stays steady. No weird fluctuations. But here is the important part:keep the glass clean. Clear quartz is a bit sensitive. If ink mist or oils build up on the tube, it creates “hot spots.” That’s how you get a cracked lamp. Give them a wipe, keep them spotless, and they’ll last you a lot longer.
